EMSAT
The Emergency Medical
Satellite training program is sponsored by the Virgina Office
of Emergency Medical Services. EMSAT training videos can
be viewed in three ways and Category 1, 2 or 3 CE credits
are awarded depending on how they are viewed. To receive
Category 1 or 2 CE hours: (1) the training must be viewed
live at a designated site, at the designated time. Eagle
Rock Rescue Squad is a designated EMSAT training site. Click
here for the current schedule; (2) the training can
also be viewed on demand at TrainVirginia,
the Virginia Department of Health's new online premier learning
resource for professionals. However, the training is not
live, there is a delay of several months before the EMSAT
videos are available, and you must take and pass a quiz
to receive credit.
Category 3 CE hours can be obtained by viewing the training
using the DVD version or online using the links on the right.
A short 10 question test must be taken, the answers must
be added to a CE card and the card sent to the Virginia
OEM office. The 10 question test is shipped with the DVD
and usually arrives a month or two after the live broadcast.
The DVDs are kept in the Squad Library and must be signed
out if removed from the Squad building.
